a few good eat-outs

exams are starting in two days time. So not much of a blogging time you see.

still we managed to have two good dinners in Pune city. OK first i have to explain what I mean by Pune city when i am studying in SIBM, Pune. SIBM has shifted from its great locale of SB road ( which is close to lot of happening places) to a god forsaken place(not anymore) called "lavale" which is 17 km away from city. initially we were really mad with its inconvenient location. but it had its own advantages picturesque hill top, hill stationish look, all the friends and fun we are having here.

but this post is about food and variety that Pune provides to you.

Good-luck Cafe
its a old Parsi cafe on the deccan and FC road junction. Budget place thats what you will think after reading the menu and the look of it. The taste of it has nothing budget about it. Its royal. Try Cheese omelet and Maska bun, its absolutely Delicious.

Blue Nile
Another Parsi place. Its absolute paradise (if you are from Hyderabad or Secunderabad you will know what i am talking about). Chicken and mutton biryani here is awesome. if you want an authentic Persian Biryani this is the place. Delight for Non-Veg connousieur.

Mazza 9
Its a continental and Indian food joint in Hinjewadi. expensive looking place. always full with techies from tech park near by. but place is neither costly nor boring. ambiance is brilliant. if you have a big group call in advance and book a tent. My pick is Pathari Kabab which is like sweet heaven on platter. Beware of the quantity which is surprisingly more for the quality. Continentals are smooth as well. don't forget to eat a Mitha Pan at the outside pan shop.

ABC farms Pvt. Ltd.
It is a conglomerate of good food joints in KP(Koregaon Park). We visited Cheese Garden yesterday. Good Swiss delicacies. Fondue was really fundoo. Rostie which is a roasted omelet of potato and onion as the base; with add-ons of your choice. we had chicken, Veal and eggs. Eat pizza at your own risk. Its brick oven and fancy stuff still not worth it........soggy and bad. Over all worth going there for Swiss delicacies.

Movie watching has been really thin at this end

i saw few good movies over last 1 month or so........ we had our summer placements going on. plus term end exams. so overall it was very hectic.

i will not talk about the obvious good movies which all of u must have seen like rock on etc.(cant think of any other obvious)

to start of, "Flashback of a fool". Daniel Craig the bond actually drew us into watching this movie. in the end he was least of the reasons why i liked it. Movie has very explicit content and highly inappropriate ones that too. But still the drama involved is really good, it will touch you if you had failed romances and great friends which is almost everyone of us. Still a word of caution " family movie....... to be seen separately by the members" .....;-)

"welcome to sajjanpur" ; i was shocked to see that this was the film by shyam benegal... oh my god......... but movie lived up to his name and fame.It had the satire, the fun which was all worth the village setting and not so great pace. It had its share of drama which will defiantly involve you. recommended stuff...... acting wise no body really sparkled apart from that eunuch's pleading scene.

also I did see " don't mess with zahan". typical adam scandler movie. very bad at it. i think it will be his worst ever. please avoid.

i am actually saving best for the last. " riotous kill" robert de niro, al pachino. Movie is well made with really well crafted scenes. Acting of both the veterans is not Oscar material i must admit. Still its not as bad as some of the dailies have expressed. If i divulge more then it might ruin your fun. must see.

see you tomorrow

to start off

OK this is my first blog and i have not planned what and how i will write.

To introduce myself, I am Abhishek Prakash Mandvikar. I am student at SIBM, Pune. I am doing my MBA in Finance. I am from mumbai. Sports and Movies are my passions.....

I am gunner for life (i.e. Arsenal from EPL). I love travelling and trekking. I read books which are mostly recommended by my friends.

Mostly i will talk about current issues and events those are happening around. The name of the blog is what I believe our life should be. I try and live up to these high standards of fun.

There is this famous quote by T.S. Eliot " Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go"; which I live by and intend to die by.
