Our season starts here

i am a huge gunners fan. we call our self gooners.

OK for the people who don't know a thing about what i am talking about; gunners is the nickname of Arsenal Football Club. they play in English premier league. North London club with great footballing tradition and i love them.

this summer was not that good for us. with Adebayor's non committal tendencies over the summer and absence of real big signing made even staunch of fans skeptic of our footballing season to come. we signed Samir Nasri, wonder kid Aron Ramsey and a baffling Silvester from Man U.

in first 11 games we lost 3 games which was the tally for entire last season and drew other 2. we were 6 points behind league leaders Chelsea and Liverpool. with only 2 points in last 3 games , heart breaking draw against arch rivals SP*RS(to be read as spurs), and a dreadful loss to stoke city. Six of the first team players injured could it have been any worse.

wait it was.......to top it all up we were up against reigning champions Man U(Manchester United) today. this was the make or break game. loss would have definitely ended our season prematurely. so it seemed when the game began. Man U had great openings. But could not capitalise and within 10 min or so we started finding our rhythm. it was really dominating stuff by Gunners. they kept pushing forward and soon on 22nd min. Samir Nasri struck. OK it was a deflected goal still it was coming all along. Man U did had decent chances which they did not take them and Gunners sure did punish them. couple of minutes into second half and an incisive pass from Ces Fabregas( the best player on the team) tucked in again by Nasri. gunners did defend valiantly and a late strike by Rafael de silva ( the boy is destined for greatness) could not save Man U from sinking.

it was a fair result even a Man U fan will agree and it makes season more colourful now with all four top teams stacked up within 4 points. Gunners did show some character to came out fighting and pass the stern test with flying colours.

Kudos!!! our season starts here.
